DESIGN STATEMENT
Located in the heart of Baton Rouge, the Capital City Pediatric Asthma Center has decided to open a new headquarters and pediatric asthma health care sector and outpatient-based clinic. We plan to focus on creating a healing and educational space for children, the staff, and all who inhabit this space. We believe that to create this; we need to create an environment where everyone can coexist. Elevating and evolving by enhancing patient experience to inspire the provider’s journey in differentiating their definition of care. We plan only to make small changes that create a significant impact on the transition that health care sectors so desperately need. Creating an omnipresent environment while adding striking elements to create an experience that adds value and reflects its own identity. Inspired by our perception of the visual environment. Focusing on what it would be like to enjoy Louisiana’s natural environment without experiencing the adverse effects the natural environment has on our patients.
Transforming Care
Entering the space the user experiences the existing building and interior at a sensory level. The plan focuses on the surrounding environment throughout the progression in the space. Recreating elements like the Indian Mounds, Mississippi River, Levee System, and Atchafalaya Basin. This allows the patients to experience their local environment in a way that doesn't affect their own health.
